Overview

The chapel of Agia Kyriaki is located 5 km northeast of the village, on the road from Agros to Nicosia. This small chapel was erected in memory of the EOKA fighter, Ikonomos Papachristodoulou Avgoustis. The single-aisled church is covered by a wooden tiled roof, with its tiles being flat and hooked. Externally, the church is clad with irregular Troodos stone and ceramic limestone. Internally , the temple consists entirely of frescoes, while the floor is made of manufactured square slabs. The chapel of Agia Kyriaki is celebrated on 7 July. Next to the chapel of Agia Kyriaki is the monument of the Cypriot Fighter, a reverent offering of memory and honour to the female fighter of Pitsilia of the 1955 generation.
